ABC Names First African American as President

Meet the new HCIC (Head Chic in Charge) at major television network ABC, Channing Dungey.

Dungey, who previously served as the Executive Vice President of Drama at the network has become the first African American to head a major television network.

Originally from Sacramento, 46-year old Dungey worked her way up from a development assistant for 20th Century Fox, later becoming a production executive at Warner Bros.   While at Warner Bros, she was instrumental in the success of a number of major films including the highly acclaimed, The Matrix.

A UCLA graduate, Dungey’s appointment is both a historical one for women of color and African-Americans.
