Walker’s Legacy, a global professional collective for women of color, is an organization committed to engaging and equipping career-driven women of color to success in business and entrepreneurship.
Minority women are the fastest growing segment of entrepreneurs, yet recent studies have shown that businesses owned by women of color are less likely to be selected for funding from angel investors and other financial institutions.
We are excited to continue our work in dissolving this disparity with the PROSPECTUS Online Business Accelerator Program.
PROSPECTUS focuses on providing both the trainings and resources needed to build and scale businesses founded by women-of-color.
In addition to access to $5,000 prize funding upon completion of the program, PROSPECTUS provides support in access to business education and professional networks to tackle some of the most prevalent challenges this community faces when building their businesses.
PROSPECTUS utilizes structured online learning and an in-person cohort model aid aspiring and existing business women of color in advancing their business operations. Applicable business owners can register for the program here.
Courses will be taught virtually each Sunday evening from January 15, 2017, until March 12, 2017, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. The program will conclude on March 25, 2017, with the Walker’s Legacy Women’s Leadership Summit and Pitch Competition.
