For a long time, researchers have been looking for a drug that could tell the difference between healthy and unhealthy cells. Today target therapies are being used around the world to combat diseases like breast cancer in men and women. Unlike chemotherapy drugs, targeted therapies kill cancer cells with little harm to healthy cells. However, one of the drawbacks of these therapies is that they only work on cancers that have the specific markers they were designed to target.
