The global collective for women in business highlight the contributions of the fastest growing entrepreneurial segment with national programming on May 4, 2017
Walker’s Legacy, a business professional collective for women in business, will celebrate Annual National Walker’s Legacy Day on May 4, 2017, with national programming in cities across the nation. This day, in tandem with National Small Business Week, demonstrates the economic impact and entrepreneurial accomplishments of multicultural women to the United States economic sustainability.
Established in 1963, National Small Business Week recognizes the contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout the country. National Walker’s Legacy day is an engaging opportunity that furthers this purpose and the Walker’s Legacy mission by connecting, educating, and uplifting women of color in business with the tools to learn, aspire and succeed professionally.
Women of color are making great strides in entrepreneurship throughout the country and National Walker’s Legacy Day acknowledges our role as business owners and economic contributors to the USNatalie Madeira Cofield, Founder and CEO, Walker’s Legacy and Walker’s Legacy Foundation.
Nearly 8 out of every 10 new women-owned firms launched over the past nine years have been founded by women of color, making them the fastest growing segment of entrepreneurs. Despite the substantial growth among this community of entrepreneurs, there is a great disparity that persists in accessing resources for entrepreneurial success. Walker’s Legacy is missioned to dispel these challenges through its original content and research, signature programming and events, and its non-profit arm, Walker’s Legacy Foundation.
Members of the Walker’s Legacy community are encouraged to host programs in their communities to recognize the opportunities and triumphs of this community of business owners. A complete toolkit to guide planning can be found here and the opportunity to have the event posted on the Walker’s Legacy national calendar can be found here.
