Lori George Billingsley has been named the new chief diversity and inclusion officer at The Coca-Cola Company. Billingsley assumed her new role on Monday, Oct. 1.
Billingsley’s responsibilities as chief diversity and inclusion officer include leading the company’s Global Diversity and Inclusion Center of Excellence, as well as the Diversity, Inclusion and Workplace Fairness teams for North America.
Previously, Billingsley has served as the vice president of community and stakeholder relations for Coca-Cola North America, a position she began in March. As VP of community and stakeholder relations, she led community giving and engagement, stakeholder relations and issues management, employee volunteerism, community board placements, disaster relief, and CCNA’s 5by20 women’s initiative. She has also served on the company’s Multicultural Leadership Committee since last year.
Additionally, she’s held various community, communication and shareowner affairs roles within both the corporate and CCNA public affairs and communications function at Coca-Cola since 2002.
Before to joining The Coca-Cola Company, Billingsley served as vice president at Porter Novelli in Washington, D.C. and founded a consultancy, LG Communications. She also held the role of senior public affairs specialist for the Office of Human Rights and Minority Business and is an ordained minister.
She also serves on the board of directors of The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Inc., Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, ColorComm, NAACP Foundation and Arete-Executive Women of Influence.
Billingsley attended Howard University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations and American University where she earned a master’s degree in public communications.
