The non-profit for women of color and the NEWARK Community Economic Development Corporation will partner to provide the free 12-week program for enterprising millennial mothers of Newark, NJ. The organizations will host a Mayoral Press Conference on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at 11:00 am.
Moms Who Hustle: A Financial Planning and Entrepreneurship Program seeks mothers with dynamic ideas, talents, or crafts that have the potential to flourish as a business. The curriculum leverages an online and in-person learning model through its 12-week program guided by instructors in various geographical locations. Walker’s Legacy has arranged a number of accommodations for mothers involved with the program, including on-site childcare, access to financial planning tools, entrepreneurial insight to begin self-empowerment, and additional resources that are accessible via the Walker’s Legacy App.

Moms Who Hustle aims meet women where they are, and enhance their skills as businesswomen. Many single mothers lack the resources and/or networking opportunities to take their business and overall entrepreneurial confidence to the next level. Moms Who Hustle provides mothers in Newark with the tools necessary to achieve economic stability. The skills these mothers gain will be beneficial not only for their own interests, but also for their loved ones and community towards continuous success.
