The non-profit for women of color in business will launch this signature program that supports financial planning and entrepreneurship for millennial moms at two sites in Washington, D.C. and three other markets across the country including Baltimore, MD, Detroit, MI, and Newark, NJ.
Moms Who Hustle seeks mothers with dynamic ideas, talents, or crafts that have the potential to flourish as a business. The curriculum leverages an online and in person learning model through its 12-week program guided by instructors in various geographical locations. Walker’s Legacy has arranged a number of accommodations for mothers involved with the program, including on-site childcare, access to financial planning tools, entrepreneurial insight to begin self-empowerment, and additional resources that are accessible via the Walker’s Legacy App.
Participants are between the ages of 21 to 35 years old and are government classified as low income or asset limited income constrained, employed women.
Moms Who Hustle aims meet women where they are, and enhance their skills as businesswomen. Many single mothers lack the resources and/or networking opportunities to take their business and overall entrepreneurial confidence to the next level. Moms Who Hustle provides mothers in D.C. with the tools necessary to achieve economic stability. The skills these mothers gain will be beneficial not only for their own interests, but also for their loved ones and community towards continuous success.
