Speculations have been circulating this past week that California Congresswoman. Maxine Waters and Senator. Kamala Harris may be added to the list of presidential prospects for the 2020 presidential elections. While the media has discussed potential candidates such as Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and even former first lady Michelle Obama, with both Harris’ and Waters’ extreme involvement in unraveling the kinks in the Trump administration, as of late the media has seemed to alter all their attention to these two well-deserving political heroines.
Waters recently visited New Hampshire this past weekend in which she told The Daily Caller that her visit had no correlation with her potential run for the presidency, but that if the Millennials want her to run, then she would run.
Waters is best known for her unfiltered comments and her calling for President Trump’s impeachment. Waters stated earlier this year that, “my position against this president and his administration is clear. I oppose this president. I do not honor this president. I do not respect this president.” Social media and the younger generation has grown to love Waters and her sometimes controversial comments.
Sen. Harris also attended a democratic event this past weekend in which an inside source told Page Six that Harris is the “new voice of the Democrats.”
Both women have downplayed their presidential ambitions, but that doesn’t stop some of us from hoping that they take the step to actually run. For these two powerhouses to consider 2020 would be groundbreaking and history making for women, most especially black women, worldwide.
