Walker’s Legacy Profiles recognize unique women of color in business who embody the legacy of Madam C.J. Walker, the first female self-made millionaire. In this installment, meet Christina Crawford, Founder of Bubble Pop Beauty.
Christina Crawford is the owner and founder of Bubble Pop Beauty. She’s also a mother, beauty guru, blogger and marketing expert. Crawford’s career is based on a strong commitment to pushing to turn aspirations into reality.
Crawford has a BA in Communications from New York University and an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology. Before founding Bubble Pop, Crawford held various positions in marketing, branding and promotions.
Christina’s daughter inspired her to start her business when she came home from school one day and told Christina that she wanted to sell something. She decided to use that moment as an opportunity to teach her daughter that she can do anything if she’s willing to “pop the bubble and create.” That attitude inspired the name “Bubble Pop.”
Today, Bubble Pop creates products to offer simple cosmetic solutions to problems women face on a daily basis. These products include a cream to combat under eye bags and a serum to restore damaged hair. Bubble Pop aims not only to help women look their best, but also to help them become “Boss Babes.”
“We live in a world that classifies people by their race and gender,” shared Crawford. She went on to say, “ Your background should never define you. My advice is to find away to make it. Race or circumstance should never stop you from being the person you want to be. Be strategic. Be focused and even if you get a million no’s – all you need is one yes.”
In the future, Crawford is looking forward to the growth of Bubble Pop’s product line. She also hopes to gain international exposure and continue to advocate for women. You can learn more about the Bubble Pop brand here on their website.
