New York Native womanpreneur, Nadira Chase gave birth to Adiva Naturals, a leading manufacturer of luxury hair and skincare products, in 2002. The brand, which utilizes only natural, organic ingredients in its products, reached a business milestone in announcing its expansion to Richmond, VA which includes a showroom and manufacturing facility housed in the Shockoe Bottom neighborhood.
This farm to table hair and skincare product manufacturer was built from the kitchen of her former restaurant, Tropical Soul. There she would prepare heaping batches of her Ginger & Sugar Body Polish and her popular leave in hair and skin conditioner for restaurant clients as a hobby.
“After years of battling psoriasis, I began to see significant improvements after making and using my first batch of natural skincare products.”
“I began to share these products with my friends and family as gifts initially. They quickly became customers and assisted in growing my and establishing my initial client base. Through our 16 year history, our Adiva Naturals family has continued to grow based on this one simple concept,” says Chase.
Adiva Naturals uses the highest quality ingredients, without any compromise, to provide customers with a total wellness experience. Products also include hair and body refresher, milk and lavender face cleanser, coconut cream and avocado conditioning shampoo, apple cider vinegar clarifying herbal rinse, and more.
After spending six years operating a showroom in Richmond’s Manchester community, Chase had both outgrown the space and exceeded her previous goals for the business.
“Nadira has developed a high-quality product and a loyal customer following. Those are two important things for any business, but even better she is a pioneer in the fast-growing natural hair and skin care products industry,” says Art Espey, a local business advisor and Vice Chair of Lighthouse Labs.
The two began a collaboration that moved Chase’s business and manufacturing expansion plans from a vision to a reality. Thanks to the assistance of the late beloved Lorna Pinckney, Nadira found a Shockoe Bottom location at 1802 East Franklin Street, the perfect home for Adiva Naturals’ next chapter.
Richmond’s Shockoe bottom has largely been the home to popular restaurants and nightclubs. Adiva Naturals, now allows residents the opportunity to add shopping and wellness destination of things to do in the neighborhood.
“I love the energy that I experience when I support local business here. I never thought that I’d have a shop here, but as soon as I saw this location, I knew it was meant to be”Nadira Chase, Founder, Adiva Naturals
In celebration of its new Shockoe Bottom location, Adiva Naturals will host its Grand Opening, Saturday, April 14, 2018, from 4 to 7 pm. All are welcome to take part in the Adiva Naturals experience.
