Representing over 4.2 million Hispanic-owned businesses, #USHCCDallas was hosted by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce—the largest Hispanic business organization in America. Focused on “fostering Hispanic economic development and to create sustainable prosperity for the benefit of American society,” they seek to build a bridge between the fast-growing minority group and corporate America.

As the country’s largest gathering of Hispanic-owned businesses and Fortune 1000 corporations, thousands of multicultural professionals, local chamber leaders, and corporate executives convened at the Omni Hotel to attend workshops, establish connections and to advance the state of Latino entrepreneurship.

The three-day convention featured workshops such as: “How Hispanic-Owned Businesses Can Succeed via Federal Government Contracting,” “Opportunity Online: Latino and Black Small Businesses and the Internet,” and “Community Building & Banking.”

The Women in Business and Leadership Luncheon featured a conversation with Excellence in Leadership Awardee, Cindy McCain due to her work to end human trafficking as well as a presentation of the inductees of the 2017 ‘At the Table: Enterprise Accelerator’—a year-long program that supports the growth of three Latina small business owners. Additional winners throughout the convention included: 2017 LGBTQ Business Advocate of the Year, Mark Madrid, CEO of the Latino Business Action Network; as well as Donte Houston, Lauren Welch and Bradley Ritschel, scholarship winners of the BizVenture Collegiate Entrepreneurship Competition.

Finally, in light of the recent hurricane devastation to Puerto Rico, a text to donate campaign was launched during the closing gala. Within several minutes, $35,000 was raised in partnership with Unidos Por Puerto Rico. Created by the fourth First Lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosselló, all contributions will go toward the victims of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane  María.
