Walker’s Legacy is now collecting nominations for its annual national Power50 and Power25 local lists. The organization honors leading women of color in business and entrepreneurship by highlighting their transformative work and celebrating their dedication to the Walker’s Legacy mission of engaging and equipping professional multicultural women.
The call for nominations provides the option to nominate a power woman for the national Power50 list, or localized Power25 lists in Detroit, MI; Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; or Los Angeles, CA. Chosen honorees will be recognized in the upcoming summer Power Brunch series that features impactful, education, and inspirational content for attendees.
“A Walker’s Legacy Power Woman provides inspiration, civic leadership, mentorship, and more to the communities she serves,” said Natalie M. Cofield, Founder/CEO of Walker’s Legacy. “She is a business-minded professional, mother, wife or a millennial mover and shaker who most importantly embodies the legacy of Madam C.J. Walker and inspires the next generation of women innovators”
Past honorees have included women who thrive in an array of industries including technology, media, corporate business, and education. Honorees and Power Brunch speakers have included A’Lelia Bundles, Author and Great-Great Granddaughter of Madam C.J. Walker; Michele Thornton, Sr. Vice President of Centric TV; Janice Bryant Howroyd, CEO of Act 1 Group; and Dr. Laura G. Murillo, President/CEO of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
